This letter is in response to the complaint we received regarding your Brinks Home account. It would be nice for Brinks to do the reasonable thing for a good customer.Thank you for your time and consideration. I'm nobody and I realize that seems like a piddly amount, but I have three kids at home still, two in braces, two driving, I'm a pastor and my wife is the middle school counselor and school nurse. All I'm asking at this point is to have my $110.69 erased. It seems to me that it is not unreasonable at all, given the circumstances, for Brinks to forgive the charges. I was informed that it was impossible for Brinks to do what I was requesting. The customer service people have been courteous and even very patient I have no complaints there, but it was frustrating waste of our time. We were at an embarrassing and juvenile standoff. It was a ridiculous phone call in which much of our time was spent in silence, as the customer service rep was evidently not allowed to hang up, and I had no power except to stay on the line. Yesterday I called again and spent over an hour and a half trying to get my account canceled and the charges erased. A few days ago, I received a threat letter informing me that I was going to be turned over to a collection or credit agency for failing to pay the previous two months' charges, $110.69. In five years, all of the years I've been a Brinks customer, we have never missed a payment or been late on a payment. It was a Brinks number, but perhaps it was not the correct number? I do not know.Because I felt Brinks was making it ridiculously difficult to cancel my service, I directed Discover Card to stop paying the automatic payment. A recording told me that the department wasn't open on Mondays. I called the number on the material I had, twice. I waited, checked trash and spam folders nothing. I needed to wait for an email to arrive, sign it, and wait thirty days. They informed me that this wasn't possible. I attempted to cancel my home security monitoring service two months ago over the phone. ![]()
